I work as a freelance translator since 2005 (full-time from 2005 to 2008 and since 2017) and have worked as an internal translator for a translation agency in the meantime (from 2008 to 2017). Before that, I worked in customer service jobs for several companies in different industries (marketing, leasing, etc.)

I am a native Dutch translator, authorized by the the State Judiciary of Quintana Roo, Mexico and registered at the Dutch Embassy in Mexico. The past two years I have especially worked on legal translations such as personal and academic documents, notarial deeds, powers of attorney, agreements, and deeds of incorporation. However, I frequently translate website and social media content, including e-learning and e-commerce content, general website features, and instructions and privacy statements. Although technical translations are not my specialty, I have worked on numerous user guides and manuals for technical devices as well.

My goal was to turn my work as a translator into my primary source of income and creating this small business was my first step towards achieving that. In these jobs I learnt a lot about the translation of technical and practical subjects and natural sciences. I now combine my love for and knowledge of these subjects with my love for languages and translation. I developed a taste for the literary genre as well: since 2012 I have worked closely with a publishing company, called ClusterEffect, and have translated several novels, both fiction and non-fiction. To name a few: The New Medicine Man (Boris Bouricius), The New World Order (Han Peeters), Sleeping Ulysses (Jess Jordan).

I am a graduate student in an international programme of Economics at KU Leuven university, taught in English. Previously, I obtained a master's degree in philosophy. This means that I can handle both culturally-oriented texts as well as more scientific ones. Over the last several years, I became very experienced in online freelance translations, as I worked for several companies, now focussing entirely on Smartcat.

With a Master's degree in Translation Studies and tons of experience, I'm confident I will be able to provide the high quality translation you are looking for! I'm a native speaker of the Dutch language and am highly proficient in English, to the point that I can call myself near-native.
