I've always had a passion for languages! Born in France, I grew up speaking French and learning English and German in school from an early age. I also touched on Italian, Spanish and Greek. But ultimately, my career led me to focus on English. I left France at the age of 30, stayed for 2 years in the USA, and have now been living in Canada since 2015. My background is scientific: I have several degrees in the biomedical and life sciences fields, including a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. I have over 10 years of experience in healthcare and research. During that time, I also offered translation services in my field as a secondary part-time activity. As of 2020, I am now a full-time translator English-to-French and French-to-English. My main interests remain in the medical/health sciences field, but I am also interested in a variety of other subjects that are not necessarily science related. I am a graduate of the Parisian school ISIT (Institute of Intercultural Management and Communication). Most of my experience has been with journalistic and administrative associations. I already had to carry out translations while respecting strict deadlines. For example, I assisted a group of translators in translating and proofreading newsletters and articles from French into English and from English into French, the deadlines for the newsletters being the same. Similarly, I have worked as a freelance translator and have proven capable of dealing quickly with orders with short deadlines occurring during evenings or week-ends. My most recent job as a data entry contributor has taught me to look quickly and efficiently for specific information and to determine by myself how valid a given source is. It has also taught me how to work as part of a team through a decentralised working environment where all communications are done through emails or business chats.
