Hi, I am Mücahid, mostly called Muco for short :). I am a freelance translator with 2 years of experience. I have been speaking English for 17 years and French for 6 years. I am a huge books and movies nerd, and I am not just saying that, I love Star Wars Saga, Pulp Fiction (actually, nearly all movies made by Tarantino), Godfather, City of Women and a lot more... I also love rock. To begin with groups, Black Sabbath, Ghost, Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Depeche Mode, Led Zeppelin, and more. Besides that, I went to Medical High school, so I am familiar with latin terms. I also lived in Paris, France for 6 months. During that time, I studied at Sorbonne. I visited Louvre, Picasso, Rodin, many many bookstores, libraries and Eiffel Tower, obviously :).

I am a certified court translator and interpreter for English, with over 30 years of work experience in translation, proofreading, editing, transcription etc. in English, German, French, Croatian, Bosnian, and Serbian. Over the years I have acquired extensive knowledge of legal, business, marketing, and other terminology. I also have significant experience in the fields of cooking and food, agriculture, kitchen and home appliances, and IT. I've always had a passion for languages! Born in France, I grew up speaking French and learning English and German in school from an early age. I also touched on Italian, Spanish and Greek. But ultimately, my career led me to focus on English. I left France at the age of 30, stayed for 2 years in the USA, and have now been living in Canada since 2015. My background is scientific: I have several degrees in the biomedical and life sciences fields, including a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. I have over 10 years of experience in healthcare and research. During that time, I also offered translation services in my field as a secondary part-time activity. As of 2020, I am now a full-time translator English-to-French and French-to-English. My main interests remain in the medical/health sciences field, but I am also interested in a variety of other subjects that are not necessarily science related.
