I was born in Switzerland and at the age of 3 we moved to Slovakia, so I'm proficient in German and Slovak. I have learned and studied the English language for 15 years now, so I'm fluent in it as well. I have worked for multinational companies, which required customer support in English and German on a day to day basis. Looking forward to starting translating. I have been working as a translator for a number of international agencies and online platforms for more than 9 years now. In addition, I worked as a teacher of French, English and German for about 13 years, preparing students for their A-Levels. I hold an M.A. in English, French and Literature and completed my studies at the University of Osnabrück in December 2011. During my studies, I spent two academic years abroad, namely in Angers (France) and in Montréal (Québec, Canada) and have been to the US a number of times over the years as well.

I have been certified as a translator in English by the Federal Republic of Germany in Karlsruhe and in my work I am dedicated to thoroughness, exactness and intelligibility. My interests cover such areas as history, politics, philosophy, science fiction, fantasy and horror literature. My favorite book is Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell and my most-read authors are Stephen King, H. P. Lovecraft and Clive Barker.

I am a professional translator. Before and during my academic career I have worked as a freelancer, performing on specialized texts such as user manual guides, scientific abstracts, patents, technical data sheets, popular science articles, and business contracts. I am able to translate other literary genres, also less formal like novels, newspaper and fashion articles, and literary works in general with a certain degree of proficiency at using CAT tools like SmartCat, OmegaT, Wordfast Anywhere, SDL Trados, MateCat. I am very flexible in terms of working hours and workload because I am prepared to work late and also on weekends in case of urgent projects.
