It's amazing to see the different terms and words in another language for the same matter. I started to translate from time to time in 2018, although I have a business and legal background, I've been always busy with languages and translating beside my job as a tax adviser, later on I managed a German-Taiwanese shipping company, all in English of course. I learned Russian in an extended way since my childhood, later on Persian and Turkish (this is the country, where I'm currently living.) My name is Martin Sonia, a professional translator. I have been working with the GENGO team since 2014.

I have been working as a linguist for a few years now and have a great sense for subtlety and semantics.

I have graduated with full marks in Translation Studies for Information Technologies at Heidelberg University in 2018, with a thesis on the translation of a German website in English. During my bachelor I participated to Erasmus+ program, going to London Metropolitan University for two semesters. In 2017 I have done an internship in a German LSP, where I provided technical translations from English to German and vice-versa. While in London, I have partly translated London Metropolitan University website to German.

More than 15 years of games industry experience in product management, producing, publishing and localization, combined with a solid academic background in both business administration and computer science. Project experience on publisher and developer side, ranging from AAA console & PC titles to MMOs and browser/social/mobile games. Expert knowledge in agile (Scrum) & data-driven game development, localization and monetization. Trained communication skills in big international teams with proven leadership abilities in teams of up to a dozen people. International mindset due to having lived and worked in Germany, the UK, the US, Canada and Japan.

Starting as interpreter and translator during the balkan war, while studying German language in Zagreb, I moved 1995 to Austria, where I live ever since. I am Croatian and German native with profund knowledge of English language. In the meanwhile I was working in big international companies like European Telecom International, a company of Telefonica, and DHL. Since 2012 I am self-employed and work as translator and writer.

I am a native-level speaker of Swedish (was born and raised in Sweden), also highly proficient in English and German.
