I was born in Switzerland and at the age of 3 we moved to Slovakia, so I'm proficient in German and Slovak. I have learned and studied the English language for 15 years now, so I'm fluent in it as well. I have worked for multinational companies, which required customer support in English and German on a day to day basis. Looking forward to starting translating. My name is Julius Schaad, I am a German American freelance translator and language tutor of German and English. I am fluent in Russian and possess basic language skills in French and Farsi. I have a German degree in engineering, which I obtained in 2010. In the same year I started working as a freelance translator (English, German, Russian), and since 2013 I have been teaching English and German as a language tutor in Moscow, Russia. In 2017 I graduated from Moscow State University (MSU) with a degree in International Relations.

A year later I completed a summer course at the International TEFL Academy in Chicago, USA where I became a Certified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL/TESOL Certificate, Level 5). Since October 2018 I have been working as a Project Manager and German editor in a Moscow-based German consulting company. My translation expertise spans over 10 years and numerous industries and topics.

I'm a 37 years old native German author and translator. Within the last years I translated websites, newsletters, contracts or other documents and also books. Before this I studied management of media (including a semester abroad in the UK) and began a schooling as an alternative practitioner for animals. All the years I worked in different side jobs, gaining knowledge in areas I otherwise might not have touched (florist, industrial production, programming, journalism, etc.). Besides my interests have a wide range, they vary from computers and games to physical and mental health to cooking or crafting.

Welcome! Languages are my passion! Translating is so fascinating, because it connects people from different continents and countries. I've been loving languages since my childhood. It's amazing to see the different terms and words in another language for the same matter. I started to translate from time to time in 2018, although I have a business and legal background, I've been always busy with languages and translating beside my job as a tax adviser, later on I managed a German-Taiwanese shipping company, all in English of course. I learned Russian in an extended way since my childhood, later on Persian and Turkish (this is the country, where I'm currently living.)
