My name is Mattia, I live in Italy, and I am a freelance technical translator. I have studied English for almost 20 years, I wrote my master thesis in English and my current PhD program is fully taught in English. I have translated a large amount of material from English to Italian, from Italian to English and from Turkish to English in the past years. In 2017 I got the TOEFL certificate with a score of 104/120. I write academic researches and texts in English on a weekly base, using materials written in various languages. I specialise in subtitles for TV shows, films and corporate videos but I also translate a wide range of texts, spanning from marketing and legal texts to videogame and software localisation. I'm Ph.D. in Political Studies (Università di Roma La Sapienza), member of the editorial board of the Nuova Rivista Storica and of the SOG 18 (Society for 18th Century Studies on South Eastern Europe), University of Graz. I studied perfectly Latin at High School and sustained at the university several exams of English, German and French Language and Culture practicing my translation skills while writing my Master Thesis with proficiency. I pursued further skills working with contracts, patents, diplomatic documents and treaties which unfortunately I cannot show for reasons of confidenciality. Finally I improved my knowledge of Serbian during my stay in Belgrade for my Ph.D. researche. My method of work is based on a deep respect of the original text, in consideration of the risk bringed by a too literal translation.

I speak Italian, French, English, German and Spanish - Born in Italy and raised between Italy and France. Bilingual Native Italian/French- I have been living in London and Stuttgart and I have been working as interpreter and tour guide for 10 years. I am now working as a superyacht charter broker and in my free time I am still working as interpreter / translator freelance.

I worked for 7 years for an engineering and consulting firm, translating all sorts of documents, administrative, technical, project-related, business and legal. I currently work as a freelance translator.
