Hello! I am a Brazilian freelance translator/localizer (English/Portuguese-BR), proofreader and editor. My first translation job as a freelancer was in 2013 and I started working as a full-time freelance translator in 2017. In the last three years, I have been providing translating, subtitling, copywriting and proofreading services for several clients, such as TransPerfect Translations and Trivago. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication, a Specialization in Editorial Projects and a Master’s degree in Literary and Cultural Studies. I also hold a Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) certificate. I have a deep knowledge of Portuguese grammar. I am a translation student who has been working with translation since 2018. I have translated all kinds of texts of texts, from poetry to academic essays and articles. Since I am at university exclusively studying translation, I have a vast theoretical background combined with translation practice since it is part of the course curriculum. I have been part of a scientific initiation project for undergraduates and received an honorable mention for it.

Full-time translator since 2020. Worked as an in-house translator between 2021-2022. Experience with International Relations and related areas, Business/HR, Gaming, IT and medical. First, I would like to introduce myself very briefly. I am a 42-year old native Portuguese speaker, who grew, studied and, nowadays, works in Portugal (in the city with the famous hovering umbrella installation, by the way). I am a trained translator with a diploma in English and Portuguese languages and translation post-graduate studies. Before finishing university I decided to interrupt studies to work as an expatriate translator/interpreter in a construction project with a Portuguese company in Barbados. I have completed university after returning and never stopped doing what I really like: communicate between languages. My experience and skills are especially strong with medicine, IT/ICT, defence, business, marketing and legal translation, dealing with contracts, annual reports, corporate websites, bidding documents, business plans, brochures, presentations, written resolutions, and agreements, confidential emails, language assistance in meetings, also experience in diplomatic level. The total number of words over these 20 years exceeds 5,000,000 words, with companies and brand names such as Huawei, Unitel, IBM, Unilever, Suunto, Dell, Disney, Gesticer, Harley Davidson, to name a few.
