I have worked as a translator, proofreader and editor in several specialized fields.I lived and worked in the USA for 10 years , therefore I am able to understand the intricacies of both languages and cultural contexts. I have extensive experience in translating, proofreading, subtitling and transcriptions . I am a full time translator, which allows me to accept high volume projects and deliver a quick turnaround.I have translated many texts and books for private and governmental institutions.

I started teaching English teacher in Brazil immediately after I finished my English course. I passed Proficiency exams (Cambridge and Michigan) and took my graduation course at University. I worked as a teacher for many years, studied Spanish, took a subtitling course in Brazil before I moved to Argentina in 2005, where, besides teaching I started working as a freelancer translator.

Good and honest professional, love translation, technology, programming and design are my passion. I love to learn new things, always searching to learn more each day.

First, I would like to introduce myself very briefly. I am a 42-year old native Portuguese speaker, who grew, studied and, nowadays, works in Portugal (in the city with the famous hovering umbrella installation, by the way). I am a trained translator with a diploma in English and Portuguese languages and translation post-graduate studies. Before finishing university I decided to interrupt studies to work as an expatriate translator/interpreter in a construction project with a Portuguese company in Barbados. I have completed university after returning and never stopped doing what I really like: communicate between languages. My experience and skills are especially strong with medicine, IT/ICT, defence, business, marketing and legal translation, dealing with contracts, annual reports, corporate websites, bidding documents, business plans, brochures, presentations, written resolutions, and agreements, confidential emails, language assistance in meetings, also experience in diplomatic level. The total number of words over these 20 years exceeds 5,000,000 words, with companies and brand names such as Huawei, Unitel, IBM, Unilever, Suunto, Dell, Disney, Gesticer, Harley Davidson, to name a few. Ricardo Jevoux is an experienced English translator and native speaker of Portuguese from Rio de Janeiro. He lives in Portugal where he works as a freelance linguist. I have a degree in Law and I am a lawyer and I have a degree in Pharmacy having worked both in the pharmaceutical industry and managing a pharmacy. Since 2011 I decided to make translation a full time job and I do not regret it at all. I specialize in medical, pharmaceutical and legal translations but I also translate many other subjects. I am accurate and I deliver on time no matter what.
