I have a bachelor in Electrical Engineering with a major in Electronic systems from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. During this time I was an exchange student at the University of Melbourne in Australia for one year. I have also started my Master's in Data Analytics at the Universität Hildesheim in Germany.

First, I would like to introduce myself very briefly. I am a 42-year old native Portuguese speaker, who grew, studied and, nowadays, works in Portugal (in the city with the famous hovering umbrella installation, by the way). I am a trained translator with a diploma in English and Portuguese languages and translation post-graduate studies. Before finishing university I decided to interrupt studies to work as an expatriate translator/interpreter in a construction project with a Portuguese company in Barbados. I have completed university after returning and never stopped doing what I really like: communicate between languages. My experience and skills are especially strong with medicine, IT/ICT, defence, business, marketing and legal translation, dealing with contracts, annual reports, corporate websites, bidding documents, business plans, brochures, presentations, written resolutions, and agreements, confidential emails, language assistance in meetings, also experience in diplomatic level. The total number of words over these 20 years exceeds 5,000,000 words, with companies and brand names such as Huawei, Unitel, IBM, Unilever, Suunto, Dell, Disney, Gesticer, Harley Davidson, to name a few. I am a NATIVE Portuguse speaker, from Brazil. I’ve been working as a freelance translator since 2014. I am fluent in English and Portuguese and have an extensive knowledge of IT and engineering, fields I worked in for more than 5 years. As a translator, I have been working on multiple projects for multinationals such NVidia, VIVO and Microsoft. Mainly, I want to focus on using translation to facilitate communication between individuals and companies, as well as participating in entrepreneurial endeavors that catalyze socio-economic development. I have a depth of experience working in telecommunications, energy and new business development as well as 19 years of experience of translation and intercultural communication. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Translation and Localization Project Management at the University of Maryland, thus honing my translation skills, incorporating CAT Tools, MT and project management techniques into our company workflow and service delivery.

I enjoy remote work and carefully follow instructions and I find it easy to work for long periods including during the night and maintain my attention to detail.
