I graduated in Translation and Language Studies (Letras) in 2004 and also work as an English and Portuguese teacher at public schools since 2005. During this period I have been working as a freelance translator and proof-reader and, truly, that is my passion.

I am a translation student who has been working with translation since 2018. I have translated all kinds of texts of texts, from poetry to academic essays and articles. Since I am at university exclusively studying translation, I have a vast theoretical background combined with translation practice since it is part of the course curriculum. I have been part of a scientific initiation project for undergraduates and received an honorable mention for it.

I have a degree in Law and I am a lawyer and I have a degree in Pharmacy having worked both in the pharmaceutical industry and managing a pharmacy. Since 2011 I decided to make translation a full time job and I do not regret it at all. I specialize in medical, pharmaceutical and legal translations but I also translate many other subjects. I am accurate and I deliver on time no matter what.

I have been translating technical, business and private contents from English to Portuguese for more than 10 years. Throughout this time, I have translated and proofread documents such as, hospital equipment catalog, questionnaire, medical forms, surveys, restaurant menus, letters, product list, prenuptial agreement, nautical manual, children and adult apps, casino games, real state software among other documents. Besides my current position as a freelance Translator, I have some experience in Subtitling, considering rules of synchronization and how to use subtitling software. I can also act as a Transcriptionist, understanding basic rules of verbatim and true verbatim transcription.

I'm a Portuguese native speaker graduate in Translation and Interpretation with more than 3 years of experience in translation from English to Portuguese, Portuguese to English, Chinese to Portuguese, and Chinese to English and I would be very happy to join your team. Besides my experience as a freelance translator, I have also spent 2 years studying Translation and Interpretation in China and 4 months as an intern in a translation company in Stirling, Scotland. I take my work as a freelance translator and interpreter very seriously, always with attention to detail, while respecting every deadline. Lucas Favaretto Tazinafo is a Bachelor of Biomedicine, Specialist in Clinical Analysis, Master of Biosciences and Doctor of Immunology and Pathophysiology by the University of São Paulo (USP). He is currently working as a translator, uniting his passion for the English language with science.
