I am a certified translator with extensive knowledge and practical experience. I specialize in technical translations as I have studied Applied Mathematics and IT at the University. I also have a bachelor's degree in Linguistics and have studied English in London and collected EFCELT certificate stating that my level of English is C2 (I have achieved 100% on my test). I believe that the key to the perfect translation is researching its topic. There is no other way to use the right terminology. I always do my research and all the terms I use are on point.

I have over 25 years of experience as a freelance translator, in various fields. I started as a translatir of fiction and non-fiction books for the Popurri Publishing House in Minsk, Belarus, in early 1990s. Later I was enrolled on a EU Tacis technical assitance project dealing with employment sevices as a transportation officer/translator where I was responsible, among other things, for delivering everyday translations. In parallel, I did freelance jobs for various translation agencies and the above publishing house. In total, I have worked on 6 international projects in various fields from climate change to biodiversity protection in Grodno Region in Belarus. As a result, I have acquired a solid experience in various areas of expertise as a translator/interpreter. For the last 8 years I have worked as a technical writer for a software company based in Toronto, and with a subsidiary office in Minsk. I have been responsible for online help, manuals, website management, customer support, traslation and transcription/subtitling. I must mention a special experience of mine. For the last 4-5 years, I have been very successfully collaborating with a UK-based translation agency which almost entirely deals with healthcare and pharmacology-related translations. A lion share of this work has been from Russian to English. My previous experience working as a crew member on international TA projects had helped me polish this particular language pair. As can be seen from the above, my translation work has been extensive and thorough. Working with me, you can rely on very accurate translations deliver always on time. I do not have a linguistic education, but in the process of my education, working as a lecturer, a researcher and an IT manager (up to CIO), I very often had to apply my knowledge of English for reading and translating English literature and documentation. Since 2017, translation has become the main activity for me. In this work I always try to achieve a meaningful result. Machine translation is mostly not used, although occasionally I resort to it, if the subject allows. I intensively use the CAT-system tools: translation memory, glossaries, concordance search. In the search for translations of terms I use all available means taking into account the context. I can aloso translate into another direction (English) but it's a torture for me because I'm not native in it.
