I am a professional with more than 30 years of experience in English to Spanish and Spanish to English translations. I am capable of delivering excellent quality at an affordable rate. I was born and raised in Guatemala, where I attended an American school learning English as a Native rather than as a second language. I have spent the last 20+ years living in Mexico working as an interpreter and translator for American companies such as Jockey Intl. and Skyline Builders and then I worked with the Real Estate and Tourism Industry at the Riviera Maya for more than 5 years, where I wrote and translated web content, newsletters, rental and sales agreements, contracts and “fideicomisos”. For the last three years I have been translating books, scripts, stories and novels for renowned American, British and Canadian authors. I have a degree in Translation (English to Spanish and Spanish to English) and Editing in Spanish (Corrección de Textos) I also have a degree in Biochemistry.

I have 31 years of experience teaching and tutoring all levels of Spanish. With a Master's Degree in the Spanish Language and Literature from Middlebury College, VT, I consider myself to be a grammar expert, in addition to being fluent in the language. I had study abroad experiences in Mexico prior to living in Madrid during graduate school. In 2010 I spent the Winter-Spring semester traveling throughout Argentina and homeschooling my then 3rd grade son and 7th grade daughter. Also in 2010, I began a summer language immersion program, True Immersion, LLC, in Sevilla, Spain for American teens - which continues today. I am highly proficient in Italian - primarily self-taught - but have also studied at the Lorenzo de Medici and Centro Firenze language schools in Florence over the last 14 years. From 2006-2011 I participated in an Italian Book Club hosted by a native instructor from Virginia Commonwealth University. I love the work of translating and look forward to helping you!

I'm a native spanish speaker(Latin American), fluent in english. I've been doing translations work since 3 years ago. I'm a certified bilingual, I studied english lenguage for 2 years in the Venezuelan American institud of Zulia (CEVAZ) here in my country, also I worked there as english teacher for almost 4 years, after getting my certification in english lenguage I'm from Venezuela, recently graduated in electronic engineer, and currently finishing the CCNA 4 of Cisco academy I've experience doing a wide range of translation work, starting from legal and technical translation, as well as general translation mostly. Since I was on college I had a strong passion for linguistics and the proccess of how language is acquired. Perfectioning my english and forming reading circles were some of the activities I put my effort on, aswell focusing my studies on a language-based therapy. My interest in language has led me to translation, in which I have worked these years having completed translations in areas as diverse as cooking, industry, sports betting, medicine, documentation, among others.
