I've been working as a translator and interpreter for more than 25 years and I've acquired a lot of experience in various fields such as legal, engineering, information technology, power plants, oil&gas, etc. However, I'm far from resting on my laurels since I understand very well that the languages are dynamic and the world is constantly changing, so I'm in the constant pursuit of new skills and knowledge that'd help me to stay up-to-date and do my job in the most efficient and precise manner.

My name is Martin Sonia, a professional translator. I have been working with the GENGO team since 2014.

I am a transparent, goal-oriented, and perfectionist professional with a positive perspective. I enjoy remote work and carefully follow instructions and I find it easy to work for long periods including during the night and maintain my attention to detail. That comes, of course, from having a genuine interest in Languages and Translation since I was a child and constant curiosity in researching different topics. I provide translation, retroversion, proofreading, transcription, and captioning services in general and specialized domains with appropriate technical resources. I am a qualified translator with a Bachelor of English Language and Professional Translator accreditation with the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For the past nineteen years I have worked for several end customers and agencies, providing translation services. I am completely fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Italian and received high distinction in all my language courses. I grew up speaking Spanish at home and English at school, learning to have full command of either language from a young age. With a background teaching English as a second and foreign language to Spanish and Japanese native speakers, I can take complex ideas and translate them without losing the meaning or concept behind the words and grasp the nuances of the language. I've had the opportunity to do live translations, both En > Es and Es > En. While working at an English school, I also had the chance to translate technical documents and manuals from English to Spanish for a large manufacturing company in the automobile industry.

I have a University Degree in Spanish Language and Literature from University of Buenos Aires and over the past 15 years I have been providing my translation and proofreading services to different agencies and clients. I have become increasingly specialized in a the areas of Literature, Education (mathematical and literary translations) and Technical (machine manuals and user guides).

Professional translator with 10 years of experience. I'm specialised in marketing, financial and technical translation. My working languages are English and French into Spanish (native). I also offer transcreation and copywriting services.
